Disney Imagineer named Lanny Smoot has developed a walking device for Virtual Reality experience that is taking gamers and tech enthusiasts by storm. Lanny has named the device “HoloTile” that is a Omnidirectional treadmill system that helps you walk in the Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality without actually walking forward or backward i.e. moving in the same spot, taking a small space.
What is HoloTile and How does it Work?
HoloTile is a treadmill system of small rotational, round tiles that work together to create a multi-directional treadmill that allows users to independently move and navigate in AR/VR world, adjusting their movement, rotation and position, while staying in the same spot.

Features
- Modular: HoloTile has a modular design, which means, you can expand the surface area of the tile by connecting multiple tiles like Lego.
- Omnidirectional: You can move 360 degree without leaving your spot.
- Multi-user Support: Multiple people can use the same HoloTile surface at the same time without affecting the movement of each other i.e. all the users/players can move independently.
